Staff Accountant II - Revenue Recognition

- Serve as a subject matter expert as it pertains to company revenue recognition policies.
- Review contracts to ensure validity and accuracy.
- Review accrual, deferral, and share journal entry support.
- Assist with timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close and financial statement delivery.
- Assist with the development, implementation and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures and process improvements for general accounting functions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX procedures, US GAAP and local statutory regulations (as applicable) regarding financial matters.
- Collaborate with groups outside of accounting.
- Work with team members daily.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior accounting experience (2+ years preferred)
- Experience reviewing journal entries and month end close
- Experience working with internal or external audit
- Experience of implementing process improvements
- Revenue recognition experience
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management skills
- Prior experience working within the insurance industry.
- Prior revenue recognition experience.
- Prior GL account reconciliation and journal entry experience.
- Prior experience working with sales and operations functions.
