Job Summary

The IISMO Driver/ Housing Assistant ensures refugee and immigrant clients receive reliable and safe transportation in support of IISMO programs. This role includes driving the agency vehicles, coordinating daily transportation schedules, completing daily maintenance checks, and ensuring routine vehicle maintenance is completed. Additionally, this position supports the Housing Team by transporting household supplies and assisting the staging housing for new arrivals.

Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Operate agency vehicles to transport clients as directed
  • Coordinate client transportation in support of agency programs.
  • Maintain safe and clean agency vehicles.
  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance to ensure agency vehicles are in good working order.
  • Communicate vehicle maintenance concerns agency leadership for timely resolution.
  • Purchase and transport household goods as directed.
  • Staging home with required household items
  • Complete Home Safety Checklists
  • Maintain receipts and submit receipts per agency policies
  • Document services and provide accurate account of client engagement in case notes.
  • Participating in weekly staff meetings.
  • Contribute to an environment that fosters the organization's mission, teamwork, effective communication, responsiveness, service to the clients and service to the community.
  • Ensure that the mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
  • Provide transportation for new arrivals; including airport pickups as assigned
  • Report any identified housing issues;

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft 365
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to approach and resolve problems in a detail and solution-oriented manner.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience in related discipline;
  • Valid class E driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in transportation or logistics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures is a plus.
