Job Summary:
The Intake Coordinator is a data centric role. The Intake Coordinator gathers patient information, demographics, and previous history in order to ensure an effortless treatment experience. This position requires pristine phone etiquette and clear written and verbal skills to ensure data accuracy and smooth flow of referrals. They will also perform a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, and customer service tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Transcribes and inputs all patient information, demographics and previous treatment history into the treatment portal.
- Escalates appropriate issues or patient obstacles to management.
- Fielding incoming phone calls and forwarding to applicable parties as needed.
- Maintains email inbox, faxes, and all other incoming communication methods.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Greet patients and colleagues in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Proofread and type at least 50 wpm.
- Work independently and identify/solve problems.
- Multitask and manage time effectively.
- Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, or similar software proficiency.
- Understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate or Bachelor degree preferred, but not required.
- Experience in hospitality or customer service environment preferred.
- Prior Medical Intake experience preferred.
- Bilingual preferred: English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
