Sr. Director, Marketing Analytics and Insights

The Sr. Director, Analytics and Insights will lead the organization's efforts in understanding customer/ consumer behavior, preference, and market dynamics. This role will oversee research, gathering, analyzing, and applying customer/consumer data and insights to drive strategic decision-making, improve business outcomes, and evolve customer experience. Key responsibilities include conducting consumer research, analyzing market trends, shaping marketing strategies, supporting product development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role reports directly to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer.

  • Develop and execute the marketing organization's insights and analytics strategy, aligning it with the overall business strategic priorities and goals.
  • Consults with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that market research and analytics can support.
  • Oversee the design and execution of market research studies, including surveys, focus groups, ethnographic research, interviews, and data analysis, to gain a deep understanding of customer/ consumer behavior, needs, and trends. Collects primary and secondary research, translating insights into strategy for driving marketing business success.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of market data, customer/ consumer trends, and competitive intelligence to provide actionable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Manage and oversee end-to-end execution of research projects while cultivating strong relationships with clients, and working cross-functional with internal resources.
  • Lead development of narratives for research findings; drafting of proposals and statements of work for new opportunities.
  • Analyze customer/consumer behavior patterns to understand customer preferences, purchasing habits, and satisfaction levels. Gather and interpret primary and secondary data and translate it into customer and consumer insights.
  • Lead data analysis efforts to extract valuable insights from various data sources, including internal data and market research.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the market landscape.
  • Stay current with technology trends in data analysis, data visualization, and market research tools, and leverage these tools to improve insights.
  • Develop insight collection and storytelling capabilities through data synthesis and visualization.
  • Drive an informed marketing decision-making process through consistent methodologies, project management, and capability building through the design and build of segment-specific marketing research projects.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends based on customer and market segment data to determine business opportunities.
  • Educate and guide marketing and communication professionals on marketing research best practices.
  • Select, manage, and approve external vendors/partners (research firms, analytics firms).
  • Determine best-fit platforms and system governance, including vendors and vendor management.
  • Build and maintain core Marketing Dashboards. Provide marketing and channel digital analytics.
  • Solve business problems through complex data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Share insights, analytics, and visualization best practices across the central and Segment teams.
  • Influence roadmap for Martech stack for increased data enablement.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Market Research field or similar.
12+ years experience of related work experience in a Consumer, Customer, Market Insights or Data analytics role.
6+ years include business analytics, business strategy, and successful marketing program execution.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):
MBA or Master degree with an emphasis in data analytics, statistics, research or marketing.
Strong project management experience, including strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to prioritize work independently and manage multiple programs.
Proven analytical and deductive reasoning skills; able to translate findings into actionable insights.
People management - experience leading and coaching a team.
  • Cross-function team leadership experience.
Budget management experience.
  • Diverse experience in marketing.
Strong influencing skills; can communicate succinctly and creatively to various organizational levels and functions.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels using both technical and non-technical verbiage. Great at presenting findings to a diverse audience.
Strong interpersonal skills with proven success in building relationships across all levels, internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-country, cross-division, and cross-functional teams and influence business outcomes.
Ability to operate in ambiguous environments. Demonstrated capability in dealing with complexity and ambiguity.
