Overview

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Market Director of Imaging Services, the Receptionist arranges for the efficient and orderly registration of patients, ensuring accurate patient information is collected and patient is aware of CHI St. Lukes Health Memorial policies and procedures. Displays professional, safe conduct in all interactions. Maintains positive working relationships with staff, other departments, physicians and peers. Displays conduct in support of CHI St. Lukes Health Memorial Mission & Vision.

4. Reliability completes tasks assigned; follows up as needed.

11. Welcome, register and direct patients to appropriate department and provide high level of engaging customer service skills.

12. Demonstrate the ability to collect patient demographic and insurance information accurately and enters this information into the computer system for registration or pre-registration, with emphasis on correct selection of insurance payer.

13. Perform and obtain verification and pre-authorization of health insurance as needed.

14. Demonstrate competence in use all basic office machines and computer programs such as copier machine, fax machine, adding machine, Microsoft Word and Excel, Oncochart, Paragon.

15. Foster and promote positive and professional relationships with physicians,

16. Demonstrate tact and professionalism in working and communicating with patients/families, physicians, peers, physician office staff, other referral sources and insurance companies.

17. Interact in a professional, empathetic manner and display A.I.D.E.T. in all interactions with patients and customers.

18. As a member of the Cancer Center Services Team, ensure that the patient/family is satisfied with the services provided any that any issue that arise are addressed and resolved promptly.

19. Comply with and develop efficient and creative means to maintain departmental productivity standards.

20. Adhere to CHI St. Lukes Health Memorial policies, including but not limited to CHI Values & Ethics at Work, HIPPA, PHI, ePHI, Privacy Rule, and confidentiality.

21. Maintain safe work habits; adheres to safety rules; immediately reports any unsafe condition; immediately reports any incident / injury.

22. Support department-based goals and contributes to the success of the organization.

23. Comply with CHI St. Lukes Health Memorial policies and procedures; attends required in services, education and training.

24. Perform duties in accordance with that of CHI St. Lukes Health Memorial policies and procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.

25. Wear identification badge and clocks in appropriately.

26. Demonstrate a willingness to follow the chain of command; channel suggestions, criticisms and complaints to the appropriate person.

27. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Level Required:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

Detail Oriented.

Excellent Customer Service Skills.

Strong interpersonal skills / ability to relate well to diverse groups.

Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Ability to effectively utilize computer and computer programs to

perform the business office, admitting, scheduling and department

operational functions.

Preferred:

Proficient in in medical terminology.

Experience Required:

Preferred:

Six (6) months of experience in an admitting/registration

department in a health care related facility is preferred.

Pay Range

$9.79 - $13.03 /hour
