RF Engineer III

About Us:
Frontgrade is seeking a highly motivated Antenna Engineer to join our engineering development team. In this dynamic environment, you will participate in designing, developing, and testing sophisticated RF/Microwave Antennas and RF feeds used in Aerospace, Space and Defense applications, providing protection to our warfighters. The candidate shall have a solid theoretical background in RF/Microwave theory and be a creative thinker to bring a product from concept to full-up production.
Responsibilities:YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate proposals in response to customer RFIs/RFQs, including technical summaries, cost assessments, and schedule estimates.
- Design and develop various antenna constructs including slotted waveguide arrays, horns, reflectors, dipoles, etc.
- Create prototypes of new design hardware confirming manufacturability and performance.
- Support RF testing of product, including benchtop testing (VSWR, Phase, Isolation) and Radiation Pattern Testing (Gain, Beamwidth, Sidelobes, Back-lobe).
- Collaborate with the mechanical design team on new drawing creation and design updates.
- Prepare presentations for customer meetings such as PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.
- Develop new antenna technologies and incorporate new manufacturing methods, such as Additive Manufacturing, through company funded IRAD.
- Support on-site manufacturing of product in conjunction with operations to troubleshoot and debug assembly issues, product failures, and out-of-family conditions. Create initial documentation for design implementation and for improved cycle-time and yield.
Qualifications:
HOW TO SUCCEED Minimum Requirements:
- BS or BA degree in a related field of study.
- Five plus years of experience in antenna design and test
- Experience with 3D EM tools such as HFSS, CST, or equivalent.
- Must be a US Citizen
- MSEE in RF Engineering
- Extensive experience in RF design, analysis, and test software such as HFSS, CST, SWAN, GRASP, MATLAB, NSI2000 and 959 Spectrum.
- Extensive experience with waveguide transmission line technology and components.
- Knowledge of RF electronics implementation, including LNAs, SSPAs, BUCs, and Diplexers
- Experience with DoD contracts and military documentation.
