Summary Joining the Secret Service, Office of Investigations, Forensic Services Division will allow you to research, analyze, and solve various financial issues to contribute to the attainment of program objectives. Responsibilities The selectee will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the Forensic Services Division. Typical work assignments include: Serving as a liaison for payments, budget issues, and funding transfers. Developing, preparing, and reviewing the division's financial plan, including spend plans for discretionary and non-discretionary funding authorities across various program areas. Plans and coordinates the division's financial functions; resolves issues and discrepancies concerning disputed differences in payment allocations or timeliness of payments. Managing and tracking all division funding allocations, reprogramming, and transfers actions. Providing guidance and support to Branch Chiefs by collaborating and reviewing work as it pertains to financial management requirements for the budget program and execution to ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time. Qualifications Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one f ull year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Implementing financial management and accounting techniques to contribute to the handling of financial management, accounting, and/or budget issues; Utilizing software to track, record, analyze, and/or reconcile financial data; and Advising stakeholders on budgeting and financial program information. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
