About the Role The

Director, Corporate Communications (DCC)

will design, implement, and manage corporate communications programs, initiatives, and strategies. The DCC will partner with the CEO and Beacon’s leadership team to develop and advise on communication strategies, messages, and tactics to inform and engage internal and external stakeholders. In addition, they will develop and drive project- based communication strategies and campaigns to enhance employee engagement, strengthen team connections, and inspire actions in support of the organization’s key goals and objectives. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, culturally aware, and an authentic and direct communicator. This role reports to Beacon’s Chief Executive Officer and will manage a small team of communications professionals.

Responsibilities and Objectives Understand Beacon’s brand characteristics, business strategy, and business objectives and priorities, to ensure that all communications are timely, relevant, and professionally crafted Plan, develop and execute communication strategies and messaging to enhance internal and external stakeholder knowledge of Beacon’s core values and business priorities Develop communication protocols and criteria when messaging internally (company initiatives, organizational announcements, new business, etc.) Define communications goals that can be measured in terms of employee engagement, retention, and/or organizational improvements Proactively align and partner with ELT, SLT, and RLT, across function and region, to help identify, develop, and support communication needs Guide the development of high-impact executive communications, including strategy, messaging, talking points, presentations, Q&As and other communications Develop internal and external communication best practices tool kit(s), procedures, and protocols Oversee publication of Beacon’s internal newsletter, The Communication Promise. Oversee Beacon’s corporate social media presence, corporate website, and related assets, inclusive of content calendars, strategy plans, etc. Work with external PR partners and stakeholders to enhance awareness of Beacon’s capabilities, projects, and success stories in key markets Oversee Beacon’s crisis communications efforts at both the corporate and property levels Serve as company spokesperson, as appropriate Leverage entrepreneurial mindset and data-driven approach to continuously test, iterate, and evolve communications strategy and programming to achieve improved results over time Develop and strengthen Beacon’s Corporate Communications team and create an environment of learning and growth

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required; business and writing/communications education or training a plus. 10+ years of experience in corporate communications and/or public relations; agency experience highly desirable Experience with crisis communications Property management industry exposure and participation in industry groups is a plus Skills and Requirements Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Excellent project management skills Demonstrated experience in managing, expanding, and developing relationships with C-suite executives Ability to remain cool and calm under pressure High comfort level working in a matrixed environment Positive demeanor, self-starter, voracious appetite to learn new things, and excellent professional judgement Intermediate to advanced level knowledge with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams BCTA Beacon Communities LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer that seeks a diverse pool of candidates
