If you are an experienced Engineering Manager,this is the place for you A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Develop, implement, and execute, comprehensive operations strategies that assure success of the organization and accountability for safety, quality, production, cost, and people. Lead, coach, and develop a team (direct and indirect reports) and oversee a total workforce of around 20 employees. Employ lean concepts and techniques, working closely with production leadership and Operational Excellence (OpEx) to allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results. Implement cost reduction, waste reduction, quality improvement, and productivity improvement programs to ensure attainment of key performance metrics and sustainable performance improvements. Participate in company-wide initiatives to determine One Best Way practices and subsequent local implementation to improve business processes. Represent Medtronic in the community and in professional organizations at a local or regional level. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Requires broad management knowledge to lead project teams in one department. Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function. Autonomy: Manages large team which would typically consist of both experienced professionals and supervisors. Turns the department strategy into a commercial reality by developing, communicating, and implementing business plans to achieve business results. Receives assignments in objective oriented terms; has latitude to reinterpret objectives. Organizational Impact: Initiates programs or projects based on identified business and / or tactical needs. Decisions impact projects or operations, affect the deadlines, resources, and funds, and the achievement of organizational objectives. Typically has budget or P&L accountability for a department, function, or geography. Innovation and Complexity: Develops new objectives, new operating policies, products, processes, and standards in support of the job function strategy. Problems and issues faced are complex, difficult, and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Communication and Influence: Communicates with internal and external customers and vendors concerning ongoing operations, programs, or processes. Influences across functions and businesses while balancing divergent objectives to gain cooperation of other parties. May interact on issues that have externally divergent objectives. Leadership and Talent Management: Manages at least one (department, function), geography typically comprised of other People or Program managers and / or supervisors and experienced professionals. Recommends strategies, goals, and plans for a group. Authorizes hiring, firing, promotion, and reward within own area. Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree required Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience

Experience with collaborating with internal and external customers. Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., FDA-regulated). Master’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field preferred. Working knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, 21 CFR 820, 21 CFR 4, IEC 62304, IEC 60601-1, MDD & EU MDR. Experience in Design-Reliability-Manufacturing (DRM) or equivalent corporate design and/or manufacturing process improvement initiative. Experience with leading large, complex initiatives of strategic importance to the business unit, involving large cross-functional teams. Ability to author technical reports, business correspondence and standard operating procedures. Ability to apply knowledge and work with development and supply vendors to ensure compliance to Medtronic requirements. Strong verbal and written English communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate at multiple hierarchal levels in the organization. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet/exceed deadlines and hold themselves, and others accountable. Self-Starter with a sharp focus on quality and customer experience. About Medtronic
