The Role
As a key member of the tax department, the Tax Analyst will participate in the preparation of US and Foreign income tax provisions, US and foreign income tax returns, and various special projects. This position will report to a Sr Tax Manager based in Bedford, MA. It is expected for this role to be able to work in our Bedford headquarters 3 days a week.
Your Impact
- Responsible for all the state indirect taxes of 2 Business Units (BUs) within AspenTech including preparing for monthly/quarterly tax filings and reconciling indirect tax accounts monthly.
- Provide support in areas such as US Federal and state income tax compliance, quarterly SEC reporting and tax accounting under ASC 740.
- Prepare quarterly estimated US income tax payments, for both Federal, various US States and international tax payments for assigned regions.
- Compile information for the preparation of the US and foreign income tax returns for assigned regions.
- Compile information requested for US (Federal and State) and foreign income tax audits.
- Compile information necessary to complete US/Foreign/Worldwide tax provision.
- Assist in the preparation of worldwide quarterly and annual tax provision, including supporting documentation for the US and foreign tax provisions, and related journal entries.
- Assist and resolve various state tax notices for both direct and indirect taxes.
- Maintain tax payments tracker, tax calendar, and organize tax documentation.
- Assist in conducting tax research on recent tax developments or special topics.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting or tax experience.
- Excellent Excel skills with strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to manage process flow, multiple projects, and meet deadlines within strict time frame.
- Have a curious mindset and willingness to learn new things.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA or advanced degree in Taxation preferred.
- Experience with Alteryx, Oracle and OneSource Tax Provision software preferred.
- Experience with BNA, Checkpoint or CCH tax research tools preferred.
