Part-Time Program Manager CONTRACT

Chicago, United States American Dental Hygienists' Association Full time
Location: Office Location/Chicago, IL or Remote Available Upon Request

Duration: Part-time, 15-20 hours a week

Reports to: Director of Meetings & Corporate Development, IOH

Program Overview:

A new Chairside Recruitment Program is being developed in partnership between American Dental Hygienists' Association and the Delta Dental Foundation. This initiative aims to build awareness of the dental hygiene profession among populations currently underrepresented in the field. The goal is to diversify the dental hygiene workforce and address widespread shortages nationwide.

The program will train and develop dental hygiene ambassadors who will in turn help practitioners connect with patients who may be strong candidates for becoming dental hygienists - but who haven't otherwise been exposed to or considered it as a potential career path. This ambitious program spans three years, and will require diligent planning, project execution and management to ensure a successful pilot launch, nationwide rollout, and successful outcomes.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to play a crucial role in the successful execution of our Chairside Recruitment Program. This detail-oriented leader is responsible for keeping the project on schedule, managing multiple teams and committees, and leading strategic conversations. The ideal candidate will orchestrate project timelines, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive strategic initiatives in education and training. This role demands strong organizational and communication skills and a keen ability to integrate strategic insights with operational execution, ensuring the project delivers its goals and maintains its timeline. The Project Manager is accountable for the project's scope, resources and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project communications, maintaining smooth coordination with all stakeholders including the Delta Dental Foundation, ADHA Marketing, Synergy Creative, and other project stakeholders.
  • Oversee the project deliverables within the established timelines, providing regular reporting and status updates.
  • Facilitate and lead training sessions in both virtual and in-person formats, specializing in the development and delivery of educational content. This role demands exceptional presentation skills and the capability to effectively educate and manage diverse groups, aiming to create engaging and influential learning experiences.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and coordination with the Advisory and Steering Committees.
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans in collaboration with the project marketing and design agency, Synergy Creative, aimed at achieving program objectives across multiple states.
  • Act as the liaison between project teams, the ADHA Marketing team, Synergy Creative, and other relevant parties.
  • Develop and manage the Ambassador Program comprised of dental hygienists nationwide, ensuring robust recruitment, training, and ongoing support of ambassadors.
  • Participate in strategic meetings, providing meaningful input and leadership to ensure the project's objectives are met.
  • Responsible for managing the project's budget, which includes estimating costs, forecasting, planning, monitoring, and preparing for risks.
  • Responsibly track and maintain expenses, and ensure project remains both on time and on budget.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in education, training, or related fields.
  • Dental or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong relationships with diverse groups.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering projects on time with successful outcomes and within budget.
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects and coordinating with high-level stakeholders.
  • B.A., Master's Degree, or relevant certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • 1 year contract guaranteed with potential to extend.
  • $70.00+ per hour depending on experience.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in the education and training sectors, particularly in healthcare or similar fields.
  • Familiarity with the dental hygiene community and recruitment strategies is highly advantageous.

Work Environment:

This role requires both independent work and collaboration in a team setting. The Project Manager will need to operate effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
