**Description**

Under the supervision of the Match Grant Program Manager, the Matching Grant Employment Counselor/Skills Instructor provides employment related service and case management support to Matching Grant program participants whose goal is to achieve economic self-sufficiency through intensive case management and employment services .The Matching Grant Instructor provides, educational classes, case management assistance and support to participants that will help refugees overcome their obstacles in order to reach their employment goals. The Match Grant Employment Counselor/Skills Instructor serves as a liaison for potential employers and employable Match Grant clients.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Provides training using a prescribed curriculum to prepare the MG client for employment in the U.S

+ Conducts weekly employment readiness skills training. Topics such as employer expectations, conducting a job search, applying for jobs, completing a resume, workplace culture are topics included in the training provided

+ Documents the provision of all job readiness and placement activities provided in the case file

+ Supports the client in the job search process

+ Assists in preparing the client for the interview process.

+ Provides Job placement assistance

+ In partnership with the MG case manager affirms the program expectations and possible consequences of noncompliance as reflected in the Client Agreement related to employment

+ Works collaboratively with the MG case manager to support the client in their journey to self sufficiency

+ Assists in addressing employment barriers to prevent potential sanctions and possible termination from the Match Grant Program

+ Supports the job developer in recruiting new employer relationships through outreach and networking

+ Transports clients to job interviews and provides support in the employment interview

+ Provides ongoing post placement follow up until case closure

+ Participates in peer led case file review monitoring for documentation and service delivery compliance with ORR /USCCB regulations

+ Supports the Program through development and maintenance of community relationships for the purpose of finding clients gainful employment.

+ If requested, contacts potential employers for openings and sets up meetings to present services, focusing on the CCFCS Agency employer relationship.

+ Attends networking events and assigned job fairs for the purpose of connecting with community employers and to distribute information about the MG Program

+ If requested Provides required employment post placement, follow up with the client and the employer at two weeks.

+ Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings

+ Attends all required funder training activities and keeps current of program requirements

+ Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, and in-service training

+ Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to, those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing, and documentation standard

**Qualifications**

**Education:** Associates or higher degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

**Experience:** Experience working in human services field and/or workforce development and/or refugee assistance, job counseling, case management experience or training is preferred. Ability to engage with a diverse population including non-English speakers, volunteers, and community employers
