Quality Inspection Supervisor

who is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. He/she will be working alongside the

Quality & Operations Teams

& will

coordinate the inspection of incoming products between the Receiving Inspection Team & the Production Verification Team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in

Manufacturing, Quality, and/or Operations.

Your day-to-day duties include providing training and guidance to the team,

setting priorities for the inspection and verification operations, tracking and trending of work product, and maintaining the receiving inspection department.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required. 2-year technical degree -

preferred . 7+ years of experience in

Receiving Inspection , working with quality control systems and following good manufacturing practices. 2+ years in a

lead or supervisory role

with Quality/Operations responsibilities. Strong ability to use measurement tools and fixtures such as height gauges, calipers, microscopes, gauge blocks, and optical comparators. In-depth understanding and applied knowledge of

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience

operating and programming a CMM. Certification(s) relating to GD&T, CMM operation/programming, or IPC -

preferred . Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). General mechanical aptitude

- ability to identify

measurement tools & how to use them ; ability to identify correct sloping (I.e.: an edge or angled cut). Experience in a medical device environment -

preferred. Excellent attention to detail and project management skills. Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages personnel performing sub-assembly verification, labeling verification, and finished product acceptance activities of production material. Manages personnel and performs dimensional and visual inspections of precision mechanical and electronic components for production and R&D as needed. Provides training and guidance to the team regarding inspection and verification activities. Independently creates, monitors, and maintains the inspection and verification schedules to ensure cross-functional business needs are met. Leads the tracking and maintenance of tools and equipment in the Inspection department. Develops inspection methods, fixturing and CMM programs for components to be inspected. Generates clear and accurate records of inspection for production and R&D. Collaborates on standard operating procedures that pertain to inspection and verification activities. Supports a cross-functional engineering team to identify and troubleshoot nonconforming material. Attends and participates in department meetings, seminars, and training sessions to maintain/develop certifications. Demonstrates professional competence in the workplace. Ensures all department compliance guidelines are met. Attends all meetings, in-services trainings, or continuing education as delegated by the manager. Performs other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the manager within the scope of practice and the responsibilities in the department.
