Customer Service Representative

1st Shift

Position Overview:

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for functions of Customer Service and for assuring the smooth flow of customer service in the store by performing the following duties. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Primary Responsibilities:

Generally performs, with supervision, entry level production tasks which include:

  • Process purchase orders.*
  • Create new purchase requisitions.*
  • Daily billing/sales tabulations and communication with management.*
  • Order Entry for Customer orders.*
  • Get shipping information from customers and call in pickups.*
  • Handle all customer contact databases.*
  • Call customers for payment on past due invoices.*
  • Daily correspondence with customers to track orders.*
  • Reply to RFQ's in a timely manner.*
  • Use of the following equipment:
    • multi-line telephone
    • computer with printer
    • photocopy machine
    • facsimile machine
    • calculator
    • Filing systems
    • Customer Shippers / Paperwork.
  • All other duties assigned by the General Manager.*


Minimum Requirements:

One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Manufacturing experience helpful.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent phone demeanor and maintain professionalism.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.

Physical Environment:

•Required to stand for long periods of time
•Walk and climb stairs
•Use hands to remove or lift boxes
•Stretch and reach with arms extended
•Stoop and bend
•Temperature, dust, smell and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
