Statement of Purpose The purpose of this role is to assist and support the coordination of daily operations and functions for Maternal Child Health. The MCH clinical coordinator will stay abreast of the daily census and activities on the unit, alerting the Director of any potential changes to those operations. #Responsibilities include assisting in staff scheduling, collection of data for multiple affiliations to support and nurture those relationships, coordination of staff development, and participation in PI activities. The Clinical Coordinator can serve as an additional LNA and provide direct patient care as needed. # Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Data Collection: Collects and prepares data for the AIM initiatives. Serves as an alternate to the RedCap data provided to UVMMC for the State of Vermont. wide Statistics. # Conference Preparation: Collects and prepares the needed documents for the Statistics Conference. Collects and prepares the needed documents for the Transport Conference. Assists in organizing future conference opportunities. # Survey Readiness: Assists in preparing for DNV survey through department walkthroughs and completing the safety checklist. All potential concerns identified through this process will be brought to the Director for follow up. Assists in chart audits for standardization. Assists with the collection and preparation of appropriate documentation for the Safe Care Obstetrics Survey annually. # Department Education: Assists the department educator with scheduling, organizing educational opportunities such as but not limited to, VTC simulator, annual training, NRP courses and EFM courses. Assists in creating a monthly education board supporting the department educators# educational plans. Assigns and monitors educational modules staff need to complete for Medical Mutual (Relias) Maintains a list up to date of department certifications and assists in scheduling courses as needed. # Clinical Responsibilities: Assists in supporting the Newborn testing (hearing, NBS, etc..) Assists in LNA duties when census is high, covering for LNA vacations and sick calls. Assists in lactation. Floats to other areas of the hospital for LNA responsibilities. Provides exceptional customer service and shares accountability for customer and patient satisfaction. Demonstrates competence as appropriate to his/her job responsibilities, in caring for all age groups of assigned patients, including demonstration of ability to apply knowledge of growth and development over the life span in the application of the nursing process in patient care. # Clerical Responsibilities: Verifies document accuracy prior to submitting, such as but not limited to facility worksheet, breast pumps, etc. Orders supplies for the department and collaborates with Materials as needed. Optimizes supplies through recognizing outdates and rotation of stock. Reviews opportunity for custom packs Runs available reports in EMR (EDD) etc. Collaborates with the OBGYN and Newport Pediatrics office for Outpatient procedure scheduling (NST, hearing screens, etc. Stewardship: Carries out responsibilities in accordance with North Country Health System mission, policies/procedures, and Standards of Behavior. Assists the department in accountability of efficient use of resources (equipment and supplies). Functions within a team and participates and contributes constructively in meetings to produce results in a cooperative effort.# Places shared goals before one#s own interests, and initiates and builds relationships with others on the team.# Derives a sense of accomplishment from the efforts of the team. Adjusts positively to multiple demands, ambiguity, shifting priorities, and rapid change.# Shows resilience in the face of constraints or adversity.# Modifies one#s approach to reach a goal.# Maintains effectiveness in varying environments, on various tasks, with varying responsibilities or people. Applies knowledge of system, hospital and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies. Carries out other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance. Machinery and Equipment: Various types of clinical equipment and computer system.# Physical Demands:# Manual dexterity in use of equipment.# Good or corrected vision and hearing.# Heavy work--occasionally moving up to 50lbs. at one time or seeks assistance from others. 10-25lbs of force frequently.
