Winchester, United States VEIR Corp Full time
WHY VEIR?

Giving everyone in the world access to clean, reliable, affordable energy will require substantial expansion of global electricity transmission networks. VEIR is developing a new generation of High Temperature Superconductor (HTS)-based transmission lines, enabling long distance, reliable, low loss, cost-effective power transfer in far smaller right-of-ways. VEIR's innovations overcome the main barriers to transmission expansion, enabling the world to access the very lowest cost renewable power.

THE ROLE:

The Senior Product Manager will manage VEIR's product lines from conception to launch, working with VEIR's commercial and engineering teams to link our products' business and technical aspects. You will work closely with our engineers, marketing, business development team members, and customers to continuously evaluate and improve our existing product offerings and determine how VEIR's technology could best fit future applications. The ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and continuously adapt are essential skills for this role to always deliver the best solutions to our customers. VEIR needs a Product Manager who is excited to work on innovative hardware technologies and communicate their value to all levels, both internally and externally. The position will be responsible for establishing business relationships, developing market strategies, and forming collaborative partnerships.

You Are:
    • An excellent communicator who clearly communicates goals, timelines, progress, and risks to all levels - from C-suite executives to technical experts -both internally and externally.
    • A collaborator who works cross-functionally with peer departments, stakeholders, and customers to launch new solutions and continuously evaluate the performance of existing products.
    • A logical thinker who approaches problems analytically by gathering and analyzing all available market, product, and technical information to formulate requirements, features, insights, and strategies to ensure both technical and commercial success.
    • A strategic planner who thinks long-term and can create roadmaps, define success metrics, and align product development with the company's overall strategy.
    • A problem solver who adapts to changing circumstances, manages a diverse set of opinions, advice, and recommendations, and resolves conflicts effectively.
You Will:
    • Guide the development of VEIR solutions by managing priorities and ensuring the team is completing assigned tasks on schedule.
    • Communicate with customers and industry experts regularly to gather product performance feedback, conduct segment research, and perform product A/B testing
    • Manage project engagements by working closely with customers and the VEIR commercial team to align on system architectures and program milestones
    • Perform comprehensive market segment analysis that looks at industry trends, assesses competitors, identifies VEIR opportunities, and determines addressable market size
    • Support the company's strategic visions and growth to deliver on the mission of decarbonization
Basic Qualifications:
    • 7+ years of experience in a product/program management role, ideally with hardware products
    • 4+ years of experience working with power utilities or another high-energy sector
    • Highly motivated and organized with project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate goals, findings, and issues clearly
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated and directed
    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in managing products and the product development process within a startup organization
    • Highly motivated and organized with demonstrated leadership skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Expected Outcomes in 12 Months:
    • 1-2 months: Learn the organization's key initiatives and gain a thorough understanding of the technology. Meet all the stakeholders and learn our product development process.
    • 2-6 months: Coordinate with engineering on new product initiatives and drive completion of milestones to ensure the development schedule aligns with commercial goals. Work closely with the commercial team on go-to-market strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize the product roadmap through market segment analysis.
    • 6-12 months: Support the commercial team in customer engagements by developing sales collateral, responding to technical questions, and leading system architecture meetings. Continuously gather customer feedback and monitor industry trends to determine the need for any product iterations. Explore opportunities for expanding into new segments by developing comprehensive business cases and presenting findings to VEIR management.
