Job DescriptionGeneral Job Description: Under the supervision of the Vice President, Construction, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of our General Forepersons, Truck Forepersons and Forepersons within the Site and Carpentry trades of the assigned area.Supervises:General Forepersons, Area Superintendents, Forepersons Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all Carpentry & Site field operations to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goals Operations - Assist direct reports with:Resource managementProper team selection including assignment of General Forepersons, Truck Forepersons and ForepersonsProject execution strategies and schedulingWeekly project progress, health and safety reportsHelp to provide resolution of issues, challenges and obstaclesExecution of QA/QC protocolsImplementation of Safety Department's protocolsImplementation of Acco policies and proceduresPlanning for successful project installationReview project documents to determine the proper staffing requirementsAssignment of field supervision and labor to projectsMovement/transfer of employees between jobsFill any project need gaps until job is assigned a field supervisorJob Walks (with/for PM's)Attend pre-bid & post-bid interviewsReview bid estimatesParticipation in project kick-off, mid-job and wrap-up meetingsContinuous evaluation of all personnel to ensure performance is at the highest levelEnsure adequate supervision coverage across the areaMonitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standardsEvaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase efficiency and meet project goalsReview and track project labor budgetsEngage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputesKnowledge of current building and mechanical codeMentor Area Superintendents, General Forepersons, and Forepersons to be elite leaders Assist the Vice President, Construction in departmental budgets, financial planning and fleet management as neededOther tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor and/or upper management Strategic PlanningUnderstand and support the strategic plan and corporate visionEnsure adoption and implementation of standard processes and procedures to achieve high level quality, productivity and efficiency across field operationsIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction operations (ie: installations, materials, equipment, personnel)Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated effectively to all field personnel in an effort to mitigate risk and reduce liabilityPersonnel ManagementAdhere to and promote company policiesInstill a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect within the departmentMentor, train and develop top performing supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs and avoid any gaps in strong leadershipCoordinate labor requests with the local union labor hallsResponsible for all hiring and terminating of union hydronics tradespersons within the area CollaborationCreate and foster collaborative relationships among leadership teams across varying departments and locationsParticipate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to meet company growth objectivesWork closely with Sales Managers and PM's on bid strategies and current projects regardingConstructabilityResource availabilityLabor budgetsProject execution opportunitiesPotential project challengesCollaborate with other leaders and share experiences to develop best practices, align processes, and leverage resourcesPosition Requirements: (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.) Strong industry knowledge Excellent leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic Effective communicator at all levels of the business Experience and deep understanding of the Site and Carpentry trades and general fabrication practices 8+ years of experience in Construction leading projects Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO currently utilizes MS Office: Word, Excel, ProjectGoogle Workspace: Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Forms Others: Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, Box Proficient in English.
