Public Health Workforce Program Administrator (Program Administrator 2)

The Ohio Department of Health supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require occasional attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.

The Center of Public Health Excellence brings together the Offices of Public Health Practice, Health Opportunity, and Resources and Grant Development to support Ohio's Local Health Departments, lead Public Health Accreditation and Ohio's Health Improvement Plan activities, address health equity across Ohio's public health system, and identify funding opportunities to support programs at the State and Local level.

What You'll Do:

The Program Administrator 2 will work within the Center of Public Health Excellence to manage all components of the statewide Public Health Workforce Grant Project. This position will assure compliance with federal, state, and agency policies, in addition to leading and monitoring the implementation of workplan strategies. Additional duties may include:

Serve as a liaison between Center chief and internal/external Public Health Workforce partners. Provide technical assistance and guidance to Public Health Workforce project stakeholders. Ensure timely and high-quality implementation of program goals and objectives by evaluating internal and external partner performance and progress and taking corrective action when appropriate. Develop strategies to support Local Health Departments with recruitment, hiring, retention, workforce development, and workforce pipeline activities. Develop training and technical assistance programs, procedures, policies, and work products. Deliver presentations and speeches to project partners at the Local, State, and Federal level (e.g., Local Health Departments, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention project officers). Support Center workforce and hiring needs, participate in candidate selection and identification of development plans and opportunities for the Center team. Prepare and administer budgets, monitors fiscal controls and spending, authorizes expenditures for internal and external partners, implement Workforce projects to ensure success of the program, prepare grant and program reports, and ensure accurate, timely, and complete reporting to meet program standards. Qualifications Position Qualifications:

4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.

OR

Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

OR

Completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

OR

1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.
