The Ohio Department of Health supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require occasional attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.

The Center of Public Health Excellence brings together the Offices of Public Health Practice, Health Opportunity, and Resources and Grant Development to support Ohio's Local Health Departments, lead Public Health Accreditation and Ohio's Health Improvement Plan activities, address health equity across Ohio's public health system, and identify funding opportunities to support programs at the State and Local level.

What You'll Do:

The Program Administrator 2 will work within the Center of Public Health Excellence to independently administer the J-1 Visa and State 30 Workforce Programs. This position will conduct outreach and meetings with hospital, university, private practice, and health clinic administration to program the program. Additional duties may include:

* Provide technical assistance to applicants and sponsoring agencies.
* Perform technical review of applicant documentation for accuracy and compliance.
* Determine eligibility of applicants for the program and recommend approval or denial of applications to the Director.
* Conduct follow-up activities on applications and ensures accurate and timely submission of required reporting.
* Perform analysis and strategic planning to ensure J-1 VISA and State 30 openings are maximized to best meet the needs of Ohio's clinical workforce.
* Administers primary care and rural health programming in Northwest Ohio to implement strategies to address healthcare workforce shortage areas.
* Foster partnerships between hospitals and local health departments to support community health assessment (CHA/CHNA) activities.
* Document progress and best practices of CHA/CHNAs in Northwest Ohio and provide training and technical assistance to regional officers and other members of the Center of Public Health Excellence team to support improved CHA/CHNA implementation across the state.
