Location This position is located at our Greenville Yard in Jersey City, NJ. Responsibilities • Champion the company safety program and safe work practices in all activities. • Assist in preparation and review of Work Plans and related safety and planning paperwork. • Evaluate available equipment repair options. • Work with Equipment Manager, Superintendents, and Foremen to plan and schedule major equipment projects. • Assist in developing overall project logistics including on time procurement. • Set and monitor budgets, production goals, and schedules. • Work with Equipment Manager and Superintendents to continually develop the company’s maintenance procedures and standards. #LI-MO1 Qualifications • Has obtained an undergraduate AS/ BS degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Construction Mgmt. • 3-5 years of experience as a staff engineer is required • Must possess a good mechanical foundation and strong work ethic • The ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels is required • Willingness and ability to work a minimum of a 40-hour work week Mon – Fri with overtime as needed and one Saturday every other month is required • Experience with crane, floating equipment and heavy machinery is a plus • Knowledge of MS Office Products • Experience with scheduling software is considered an asset (P6, MS Projects) Other Requirements: • Regular, reliable attendance • Work productively and meet deadlines timely • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment • Perform work safely and effectively.
