Responsibilities

Job Description:

Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of systems administrators and technical specialists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Strategic Planning and Architecture: Develop and execute strategic plans for the organization's IT infrastructure, including server, network, storage, and virtualization environments. Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure IT solutions to meet business requirements and support growth objectives. System Administration and Optimization: Oversee the administration and maintenance of servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Implement best practices for system configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery. Technical Support and Escalation: Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues and provide advanced technical support to end-users and IT team members. Troubleshoot complex technical problems, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Security Management and Compliance: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to protect IT systems, data, and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities. Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards. Vendor Management and Procurement: Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT systems, hardware, software, and services. Evaluate and procure technology solutions and services, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure value and alignment with business needs. Project Management and Implementation: Lead IT projects and initiatives from conception to completion, including system upgrades, migrations, implementations, and optimizations. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and oversee project execution to ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices. Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, mentoring, and collaboration.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Professional) are preferred. Experience: 8-10 years of experience in system administration roles, with demonstrated leadership and management experience in complex IT environments. Technical Skills: Expertise in administering Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix operating systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms. Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, backup and recovery solutions, and scripting languages. Experience with enterprise-level infrastructure components such as Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, and SAN/NAS storage systems. Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of IT professionals. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions. Project Management: Proven track record of successfully managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
