Mary's Woods, a premier senior living community in Lake Oswego, is seeking a Dietary Cook with professional experience, passion, and creativity. We provide residents with over 100 years of history in a 40-acre wooded wonderland. We are a not-for-profit Life Plan/Continuing Care Retirement Community that prides ourselves on our rich heritage, spirit of caring, welcoming culture, historic grounds, and amazing views.

This is a great opportunity for Dietary Cook who has experience in preparing hot and cold food for service in our assisted living community. The skill set we are looking for will include general knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety, specialty dietary requirements to include modified texture diet, therapeutic diets, allergens, reduced sodium and sugar. To be a fit for this position, you must be able to work in a busy & high production kitchen and strive to bring not only your skills and talents to work but also your team-first attitude

**Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience, and skills needed to be successful:**

* Become proficient in and ensure accuracy in the production of all mechanically altered food items to specific ISDDSI requirements as given by health professional

* Responsible for the preparation of all food items on the menu for residents and according to the work production sheets, menus, special request lists and verbal requests by care team staff members

* Prepare the proper amounts of all foods on the menu in accordance with dietary and production spreadsheets, standardized recipe preparation methods, portion control, time schedules and sanitary standards, as well as serving procedures

* Ensure adequate stock levels for all necessary food items in a given satellite service kitchen when necessary

* Able to relate positively and favorably to staff, residents, and families, and to work as a team with other employees at all levels

**Education and Experience:**

* Education and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma or GED

* Minimum of three years experience as a cook in a quality food services operation is preferred

* Current Oregon Food Handlers card

This is a non-exempt position and the starting wage range depends on experience and education

**Sign On Bonus:** Bonus paid 50% at 90 days and 50% paid at 6 months. To be eligible you must be in good standing and have acceptable attendance.
