The Senior Control Manager is responsible for managing the effective governance and management of non-financial risks in the First Line of Defense. This job provides specialist risk and control advice, challenges, and insights, promoting risk and control monitoring and decision-making. As our Senior Control Manager, First Line Risk and Control you will: Act as trusted advisor for the senior management of the supported remit area on how to properly manage their operational risk and all items related (Risk assessments, Control environment, issues management) Manage the promotion of accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis Manage the provision of specialist risk and control knowledge and insights Leading efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviors Managing efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviors Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment Actively challenge poor, inefficient, or excessive controls, related tasks, and behaviors Manage the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks Influence and shape the development of regulatory frameworks in collaboration with internal parties Provide remit area Senior Management with updates on any reliant changes to policy or projects related to operational risk that have an impact on their area of responsibility Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment Promote desired behaviors and a positive risk culture across the remit area For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $128,100.00 and $192,200.00 The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location. Variable pay generally takes the form of discretionary, annual awards (sometimes referred to as a "bonus"). Requirements

Youll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role: 8+ years of experience in CCO/1LoD risk management, IT GRC, Audit, or 2LOD risk management Understanding of inherent and residual risk management principles, including experience with mitigating control design, operation, and effectiveness assurance Hands on implementation of industry best practices, risk frameworks, or regulatory guidelines (e.g. FFIEC, banking regulations) Knowledge preferred: Direct management of Risks and/or Controls within Helios or similar Risk System of Record In compliance with applicable laws, HSBC is committed to employing only those who are authorized to work in the U.S. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. as HSBC will not engage in immigration sponsorship for this position.
