Why this role?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Revenue Accountant with a background in Big 4 audit, startup environments, and proficiency in the Order to Cash (O2C) process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong teamwork skills. This is an individual contributor role with the prospect of growing into a people leader.
As a Senior Revenue Accountant/Manager, you will
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end Order to Cash (O2C) process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements focused but not limited to revenue.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and operations, to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.
- Analyze and interpret complex contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of revenue accounting processes and systems.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and key KPI analysis.
- Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and other parties to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to internal controls and best practices.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, including system upgrades and process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience, including Big 4 audit experience and working in a startup environment.
- Extensive experience with the Order to Cash (O2C) process.
- In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and other revenue recognition standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
