What part will you play?
- GAF Energy is seeking a Quality Manager to drive the site's quality programs at Georgetown, TX.
- You will report to the Head of Quality and Continuous Improvement and support a cross-functional team that designs and builds solar roofing products. You will join a highly focused team that thrives in a start-up, fast-paced and multi-shift environment.
- This person will be part of the team responsible for manufacturing and delivering high-quality, high-volume, photovoltaic solar technology solutions that transform today's roofs. The role will focus on developing and improving a quality system to ensure that all external and internal product quality requirements are consistently met or exceeded.
- Creating a Quality Culture:Foster a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization by promoting awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Formulating Quality Goals: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish clear quality goals and action plans, driving alignment and accountability across the organization.
- Quality Assurance Processes: Define and maintain robust quality assurance processes and controls, ensuring consistency and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- ISO-9001 Certification:Take ownership of the ISO-9001 registration process for our Georgetown facility, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements and standards.
- Supplier Performance Management: Work closely with supply chain partners to monitor and assess their performance, ensuring alignment with our quality requirements and driving continuous improvement.
- Documentation Management: Write and update procedures, policies, SOPs, forms, and workflows as needed to support quality requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Quality Improvement Projects: Manage and assist in quality improvement projects, leveraging data analysis and evaluations to identify opportunities for enhancing quality and reducing waste.
- Quality Control Methodologies: Optimize incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality control methodologies in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing teams, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Data Analysis and Evaluation:Perform data analysis and evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement in yield, scrap, and other quality metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Training and Development: Advise, counsel, and train company personnel on the application of quality tools, empowering them to contribute to our culture of excellence.
- Corrective and Preventive Actions:Oversee and manage the Corrective and Preventive Action System, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and effectively to prevent recurrence.
- Compliance Audits: Manage quality system and product quality-related compliance audits, ensuring that our processes and controls meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- BS/MS degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or a related discipline
- MBA is a plus
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years of Quality management and supervisory experience
- Experience in Semiconductor or Electronics manufacturing preferred.
- Experience in implementing and managing a robust QMS
- Experience leading and training cross-functional teams in quality improvement projects
- Experience in statistical tools and disciplined problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, Cause and Effect, and statistical analysis tools
- Experience in creating a QMS for ISO-9001 and achieving 3rd party registration.
- Certified lead auditor to (ISO-9001 or ISO-13485 or AS9001 or IATF16949)
- Subject matter expert for Quality Plans, FMEA, auditing, corrective and preventative actions, and sampling methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing expansions and start-ups.
- Ability to travel within the US and globally as appropriate
- Low-ego team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations
- Impeccable attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and excellent time management skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and efficient
