**Description**

The Store Manager manages the daily store activities and oversees the store operations. Provides outstanding quality service and assistance to customers; leads by example, coaches store employees and works to maintain a safe, cost effective and profitable store.

**Summary of Responsibilities:**

1. Customer Satisfaction and Store Condition: Provides and coaches store employees to provide excellent customer service in a courteous, professional, friendly and attentive manner. Maintains an awareness of overall store and property conditions; notifies the Manager of any operational needs, equipment failure, etc.; trains and directs store employees to perform a variety of general indoor and outdoor housekeeping duties.

2. Personnel Management: Manages all store staff scheduling and training activities. In coordination with the HR Manager, completes all hiring, onboarding, evaluations, disciplinary actions, coaching, conflict management and termination functions at the store. Communicates regularly with staff including regular staff and safety meetings. Enforces Company uniform, sales, customer service and other policies with all staff members.

3. Merchandising: Monitors and ensures that store products area are stocked, rotated and displayed to ensure freshness, appeal and easy customer access.

4. Financial Controls: Keeps accurate cash, sale and inventory control records and accounts for variances. Investigates and resolves any discrepancies daily.

5. Vendor/Inventory Control: Receives inventory/vendor deliveries, investigates and resolves any discrepancies, product issues, counts, and broken or outdated items daily.

6. External/Internal Controls: Follows and ensures all employees follow all state and local government requirements, health and safety codes, branded food inspection standards, and the Company policies, procedures and standards that apply to the business.

7. Security Controls: Maintains a safe environment for employees and customers. Protects Company assets including information, cash, merchandise, gasoline, equipment and property. Reports any concerns immediately.

8. Administrative Controls: Completes daily books accurately and effectively, processes invoices daily, transmits daily paperwork to the corporate office in a timely manner.

9. Other duties as assigned by Manager.

**Position Requirements:**

High School diploma or equivalent is required with at least two years of retail store or food service work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Knowledge of business and customer service skills principles, including planning and organizing, resource management and leadership skills.

Knowledge of and experience utilizing a computer including e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel and basic functions.

Knowledge of bookkeeping, budget control, staffing levels and the ability and willingness to learn other profit analysis accounting.

Ability to listen, understand and explain information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner.

Ability to handle personnel issues and concerns in a fair and professional manner.

Ability to deal with customers, make good decisions when it comes to customer satisfaction, unanticipated problems or events using standard procedures. Asks for help when needed and/or appropriate.

Ability to operate a variety of electronic equipment that may include cash registers or scanners, gas consoles; credit card, money order, ATM, lottery machines, safe, hot or cold beverage dispensers, hot dog cookers and microwave ovens.

Ability to motivate and lead a team of employees to maintain a profitable efficient customer- focused operation.

Represents the Company with integrity, honesty and a willingness to help others succeed.

Physical Demands: Work requires the ability to stand 8 hours a day, frequent standing, walking, occasional to frequent bending, stooping, crouching; frequent/lifting of up to 10 lbs. and occasional lifting/carrying of up to 40 lbs; and occasional climbing and descending ladders.

Working Conditions: Work requires up to 40 hours a week and can include hours on all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Tasks are performed in all areas inside and outside of the store and can include exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), vapors/fumes, high humidity, noise and household chemical for short periods and longer periods occasionally.

Special Skills: Food Manager's Card, Serve Safe Certification preferred.
