Rental Services Sales Rep

The Rental Services Sales Representative is responsible for selling machine rental services to business and industrial establishments or individuals.This position is classified as an "outside sales" position; the position's primary duty is to obtain orders/contracts for products or services; employees are customarily and regularly engaged away from Warren's place of business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders; or talk with customers on sales floor or by phone.
- Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Quote prices and credit terms; prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own production and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Track stock levels.
- Coordinate and/or participate in customer training.
- Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
- Attend trade shows.
- Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, and sometimes develop alternative solutions;
- Ability to work in group problem solving situations, and to use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, and respond promptly to customer needs.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, listening to others without interrupting, and keep emotions under control.
- Ability to speak or communicate clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
- Demonstrated group presentation skills and willingness to participate in meetings.
- Ability to set and achieve ambitious goals, demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles, and self-measure against standard of excellence.
- Tolerance for taking calculated risks to accomplish goals.

- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- General Computer literacy a plus.
- Valid driver license and clean driving record.

Required travel up to 10%.
