Wind Site Manager

Power Plant Management Services (PPMS) serves clients as a strategic partner to optimize power generation assets. Headquartered in Charlotte, the company provides asset management and consulting services to conventional and renewable asset owners in the power generation industry.
The Wind Site Manager is responsible for representing the project owners and providing oversight for the operations of utility-scale wind farms including managing project agreements; budgeting; interfacing with owners, O&M providers, other service providers, landowners, agencies, and internal teams; and with a focus on contractual compliance and asset optimization.
This position reports to the Vice President of Project Management and requires travel to the wind sites on a regular basis, estimated to be 50% of the time.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the asset owners’ representative, managing the sites’ commercial operations including oversight of the following areas: project contractors, project agreements, financials, and regulatory compliance.
2. Manage the O&M contractors, including understanding the necessary level of oversight for the operating assets. Monitor and collaborate with the O&M providers to improve the overall availability and production of the facilities.
3. Review and report on asset performance and manage any necessary activities.
4. Manage relationships with local agencies, landowners, and neighbors.
5. Understand and manage all project contracts.
6. Manage each project’s budget, working closely with the PPMS Accounting and Finance department to manage and optimize project costs.
7. Ensures site reporting is compliant with company practices and contractual requirements.
8. Oversee the development and review of each project’s management analytics, reporting, and deliverables.
9. Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve process cost and efficiency and develop recommendations accordingly.
10. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Educational Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a technical discipline such as engineering, construction management, project management, or an equivalent degree is desired.
Required Qualifications:
1. Minimum of eight (8) years of power operations and project management experience, including preferably five (5) years of wind operations experience.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with wind power generation.
3. Experience overseeing and understanding budgeting, business planning, and financial reporting functions.
4. Flexibility to travel, at times by airplane.
5. Must have authorization to work in the United States.
6. Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
7. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
