Job Title: Mortgage Loan Originator Reports To: Branch Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Division: Retail Salary: Commission only Summary: This outside sales position will educate, advise, and guide potential borrowers through the loan application process. Review and process loan applications, approve or disapprove loans within established limits by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Provides applicants with information regarding the loan application process. Counsels customers with respect to credit needs. Obtains complete loan application including all support documentation needed to process the loan. Pre-qualifies potential loan applicants by analyzing financial background. Analyzes applicant’s financial situation and seeks possible loan solutions. Follows up on processing the loan by obtaining additional applicant information if necessary. Maintains communications between the lender and borrower. Establishes rate with borrower verbally and in writing prior to settlement. Explains legal aspects of the loan to the borrower along with payment terms and conditions. Understands and supports the corporation's policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment to all customers. Resolves any customer problems in an expeditious and tactful manner. Reviews and reports complaints received from customers and recommends corrective action to management. Advanced knowledge of FHA, VA, and Conventional Guidelines. Primarily out in the field building relationships with builders, realtors, and in the financial industry. Travel may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills: Budgeting Oral Communication Skills Customer Relations Customer Service Negotiations Professionalism Time Management Education/Experience: Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent. At least 3 years prior sales experience required. NMLS License Required. Encompass 360 Required.
