Description

WHAT FLEXWARE DOES

Flexware Innovation is a leading technology integrator that helps forward thinkers in manufacturing and related industries build comprehensive and long-lasting solutions with ease.

Founded in 1996 and based in Indiana, our teams of talented engineers leverage technology to solve real business problems with teams of engineers focused on industrial controls, manufacturing systems integration, software development, business intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Our passion is helping our customers build solutions that stand the test of time by creating solid architecture and helping customers avoid costly design mistakes.

But we're not just invested in technology - we're also invested in people. Our internal promise to our Flexdogs is to have a positive and lasting impact on our families by providing a healthy and engaging work environment. Our environment is fun, family-friendly, energetic, and was nominated for TechPoint's Mira Award for "Company Culture of the Year" in 2017, four Powderkeg awards in 2019, and 5 Powderkeg awards in 2022.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Flexware is looking for a Systems Engineer to work within one of our major pharmaceutical clients. You'll get to work with controls systems, HMI configurations, data historians, and within software created by Flexware. This individual will focus on supporting the manufacturing IT and shopfloor infrastructure, installing and validating custom software on machines, and providing documentation for highly regulated processes. While the following description intends to cover the major areas of focus, it is not all-encompassing and there may be other projects or responsibilities that fall under this position.
  • Support the client by requesting servers, following tickets to completion, and knowing who to contact when necessary
  • Create, edit, and execute highly regulated documents following Good Documentation Practices (GDP), which will include:
    • Test Cases (offline and online)
    • Installation and Verification Instructions (IVI)
    • Design Configuration Checklists (DCC)
    • System Configuration Specifications (SCS)
  • Installing custom software developed by Flexware for the client, which will include:
    • Running SQL scripts for installation of the software solution
    • Installing the software solution and confirming services run successfully
    • Installing Oracle client, FactoryTalk View SE, Batch, Kepware, Matrikon, Rockwell patches, etc.
  • Troubleshoot installations, which will include:
    • Oracle connectivity
    • Custom software services failing
    • General custom software support
  • This role may require 25-35% travel
  • This role must be located in the Charlotte/Concord area as this does require you to be onsite at the facility
**Please note that we are not interviewing candidates that require sponsorship now or in the future**
WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE BEFORE

Flexdogs are a rare breed of engineers. They come from varied backgrounds, but typically have some of the following traits:
  • Received a technical bachelor's degree such as Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical concentration
  • Have 1+ years of experience with manufacturing automation and machine integration projects, working with the following technologies:
  • PLC / HMI programming (experience with Rockwell products is highly preferred)
  • OPC servers (Kepware, Matrikon, etc.)
  • Database troubleshooting (SQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Ideally have exposure to systems administration and infrastructure support, including but not limited to:
  • Having a good understanding of operating systems and their versions (primarily Windows)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting shopfloor and IT infrastructure, including custom applications

If you're interested in becoming a Flexdog, we're excited to start a conversation with you Please reach out to Zach Black at [email protected] or Lindsay Imhoff at [email protected] Your inquiry and conversation will be treated with confidentiality, and we will not share your information with others.
