American Calibration is based in Crystal Lake, IL and this role can work from there or from its Plymouth, MN office, with regular travel to other office locations or field visits. This is a full-time, individual contributor role that will work autonomously with several areas of AC to enhance and grow our training program.POSITION SUMMARYThe Training Specialist - Calibration is responsible for the creation and delivery of educational content for AC calibration services that results in the successful onboarding and continuing education of all AC Calibration Technicians. This role will learn and fully understand the AC platform and services so that he/she can analyze the needs of our technicians to identify knowledge and mastery gaps that limit customer success; then develop the curriculum, programs and tools that minimize these gaps. This role must develop and deliver compelling content that creates engagement both in person and online which motivates Technicians to use the training program to improve their skill set. A successful outcome will be a Calibration Technician with sufficient information to confidently provide calibrations services to our broad customer base.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESMeasure technician understanding of the AC platform and services to create content to instruct professional technicians on how to perform calibration services in a way that is easy to learn.Present live content in front of small to large groups of technicians, webinars and in person, both at AC headquarters and in regional markets as needed.Build the training curriculum with measurable steps to acknowledge proficiencies.Partner with all stakeholders (management, sales, technicians, and quality department) to ensure the content is comprehensive to the companys goals, creating a single AC training voice.Manage RTIs learning management system (LMS), and lead activities including technician setup and onboarding, follow-up, engagements, tracking, certificates, curricula, and reporting to management.CORE COMPETENCIESMinimum four years experience building training and education programs in a corporate or educational setting, preferably with adult learners.Demonstrable experience creating content that communicates clearly.Experience and comfort in presenting in front of groups and in online settings.Proficiency with learning management software platformsAdvanced experience using Microsoft applications, specifical Excel, Word, PowerPoint (or Keynote)Experience with Articulate, Word Press, Adobe Illustrator, Gimp, Inkscape, or other content authoring tools required.Basic video production skills are required, familiarity with Camtasia, or similar is desired.Experience with survey concepts and survey software.Demonstrated project management experience, creating curriculum and meeting deadlines.CORE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GED and 10+ years of relevant experience, including supervision OR 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree.10-15+ years' experience in leadership and leading field service technicians.
