Onboarding you to the Company
At Nexans our global vision is to make our contribution to the energy transition and electrify the future. In the generation and transmission business group this means designing, engineering, fabricating and installation of the worlds' best high voltage subsea power cables. We are one of the world leading companies for turnkey project delivery that includes engineering, manufacture and installation of interconnectors and offshore windfarm export cables. Now we are hiring bright heads to strengthen our marine installation project execution in the US.

Welcoming you to the team
Our team provides the engineering and coordination of the installation of our subsea power cables according to the requirements of the offshore wind farm. The work is performed in close collaboration with in-house specialist resources in Europe and with local subcontractors providing the means for successful project execution. The local US team is a cross disciplinary team for the complete execution of marine installation sub scopes in the North East.

Getting a flying start
To succeed in our department, you should have some relevant experience from the energy industry, ideally with an employer related to subsea/marine activities. You also have experience working in a combined office site, and -offshore work environment. It is ideal if you have worked in companies that are project driven, and have activities related to marine operations, installation of HV subsea cables, umbilical's or subsea pipelines. You will also study the Clients' specifications and develop scopes for project execution. You need to further refine the projects' proposed solutions for installation and protection of HV cables.
In this job you will take on the project role as "Package Engineer" where you will prepare and evaluate quotations to subcontractors in cooperation with purchasing department. In support of this you will prepare documentation, cost overviews, evaluate risk, and participate in coordination meetings, stakeholder meetings, participate in site visits, and follow up work being performed on vessels. To bring yourself and the team forward you naturally seek personal development and stay updated on relevant research, technology, industry practice and rules. The more you participate in developing and sharing technical solutions relevant to the department, the better it is for the company. You make a solid impact by supporting the QA and HSE mentality in Nexans.

Your starting point when you join
  • You are an engineer with relevant education, Master/Bachelor or similar. Typical education is offshore engineering, naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, coastal engineering, ocean engineering, or similar.
