Our client, a Maritime systems engineering and maintenance company is looking to bring on a Naval Architect to their team. This position is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite based at the USCG HQ in Washington, DC. This individual will perform design review and assessment of structural viability for the USCG boat fleet.

Primary responsibilities are below:

  • Perform engineering, design, and development of shipbuilding specifications, drawings, acquisition and program documents
  • Perform evaluations of structural analysis to ensure compliance with government and industry standards
  • Conduct hydrostatic calculations and assessments (weight estimates and stability assessments)

Must Have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine, Ocean, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with vessel design, construction, and repair
  • Working experience designing and analyzing marine structures/vessels

Plusses:

  • Masters Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine, Ocean, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
