The Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations is an experienced technology leader who will lead the efforts in managing and supporting (a) the organization’s IT infrastructure, (b) software development processes, (c) data center and IT operations and (d) security operations, and (e) web services teams.

As a director, you will be responsible for establishing culture and leading your teams to achieve your objectives in this role. You will be responsible for driving the technologies, processes and procedures under your direct leadership to effect meaningful change across the organization’s technology stack and technology teams.

This position is a key contributor with data management and disaster recovery responsibilities. The role is responsible for the resiliency and recovery of IT Infrastructure including backups and disaster recovery.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Software Development support

- responsible for managing the DevOps team to provide full support for development teams. The work is hands-on and you will be leading your team to achieve its objectives in providing stability, automation, configuration, backup, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation and updates to the company’s infrastructure.

Automate the configuration, testing, monitoring and backup of our infrastructure.

Research, test and deploy tools necessary on a project basis.

Build and maintain tools to improve predictability and reliability of releases and deployments.

Help automate operations and processes.

Develop and provide

documentation/training

on procedures.

Manage and participate in the on-call rotation.

Technical Operations support

- responsible for providing daily support of the company’s customer-facing production infrastructure including reliability, uptime, process monitoring, incident monitoring and reporting, troubleshooting,

Manage DNS services and servers

Support various internal tools such as Domain Admin, GAP tool, JIRA, Confluence, Mattermost, and customer softwares

System health and process monitoring

Incident management & reporting

Security Operations

- responsible for leading the organization’s security-first culture including management of the annual SOC II audit, IT security policy and procedures, implementation and ensuring the org adheres to standards set forth.

Support SOC II Type 2 audit

Vulnerability scanning and remediation

Penetration and remediation

PCI scanning and remediation

Maintain & update organization IT security policies

Ensure compliance to IT security policies

IT Infrastructure support

- responsible for the IT helpdesk and managed service provider responsible for desktop support, the organization's Google Workspace services, various corporate tools, email systems, IT security policy and implementation of best practices and organization-wide procedures.

Oversee IT Helpdesk support

Oversee the company’s MSP, Spotlink

Manage the organization's IT Security Policy, its implementation, and adherence to.

Ensure SOPs are well documented and adhered to across the organization

Manage IT’s capital and operating budgets

Implement best practices in conjunction with management

Web Services Team

- oversee the web services and solutions engineering teams responsible for managing our client-facing hosting environments, Google Workspace, Cloudflare and enterprise technology service business. The managers of this department will report directly to you.

Provide guidance on operations and business processes

Work with product manager on direct product and operations roadmaps

Assist as a subject-matter expert on complex technical issues

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong and proven leadership skills leading teams and technical organizations

The ability to communicate technical information both verbally and in writing

Strong skills/experience in implementing, managing and supporting required policies, processes, teams, measures, tools, and reporting particularly as it relates to IT support services and related solutions, capabilities and technologies.

Strong understanding of IT process management including incident, problem, change and release management.

Solid understanding of software lifecycle or product management lifecycles with a strong understanding of release management processes.

Proficiency building Continuous integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Knowledge of monitoring tools and technologies: Elastic.co, ELK, Sensu, Grafana, Prometheus, SNMP

Knowledge of containerization using Docker/Kubernetes.

Knowledge of DNS services and domain name system

Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef.

Systematic problem solving approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership and drive.

Highly organized, results-oriented and attentive to details.

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation and diplomacy skills.

Ability to lead and mentor a team of people with varying levels of skill and experience.

Education and Experience:

10 years of experience with functional and technical aspects of IT support services and related solutions, capabilities and technologies, including 5 years of team management experience

Minimum BA Degree

Highly organized, results-oriented and attentive to details.

Self-motivated, proactive, independent and responsive

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation and diplomacy skills.

Ability to lead and mentor a team of people with varying levels of skill and experience.
