As one of the fastest-growing warehousing and logistics companies in North America, we are looking for an experienced **TRANSPORTATION MANAGER**.

The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading the plant transportation function from managing processes and people to partnering with the Plant Manager in ensuring overall plant efficiencies and success.

* Oversee CLI transportation and inbound product flow to customer's facility

* Controls and manages department budget

* Negotiates business with a variety of vendors

* Represents the Plant in handling transportation-related complaints and/or disputes

* Monitors legal compliance-oversees labor laws and DOT regulations

* Provides consultation and expert advice on matters pertaining to transportation

* Maintain proper transportation department staffing levels

* Manage all policies and procedures for transportation departments

* Provide analysis of transportation for the Plant Manager

* Enforce zero-tolerance policy relating to transportation safety violations

* Analysis of carrier performance activities

* Manage a team of Supervisors, Drivers, and Dispatchers

* Enforce company policies/procedures and corresponding work instructions

* Aid in developing best practices & schedules resulting in the most effective use of resources

* Plan, organize, help solve problems, and make informed decisions that affect all CLI and customer requirements

* Manage transportation resources (trucks and trailers)

* Oversee maintenance schedule of company resources

Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Logistics or a related field

* 5 - 10-years relevant experience

* Excellent analytical skills

* Good oral/written communication skills

* Experience with SAP - Business One preferred but not required

* Ability to work both independently (without supervision) as well as with a team
