Role and Responsibilities:
- Unload pallets from tractor-trailers
- Checks that loads are centered and properly stacked
- Ensures the safe and efficient movement of provisions
- Remove empty pallets from the pier and stack them outside the pier gate
- Performs physical tasks such as manually unloading or loading navy ships or other transporting devices.
- Transports provisions by hand truck, cart, or daisy chain
- Complies with safety program and adheres to proper safety practices
- Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures as set forth by CW Resources and the U.S. Government
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Environmental Demands: The incumbent will be exposed to outdoor elements and may have to work in extreme heat or cold conditions. The incumbent may be exposed to loud noises for extended periods.
