Overview The newly created Director of Clinical Financial Operations within UI Health Care's Finance and Accounting Services will ensure the successful execution of strategic financial initiatives impacting all areas of finance. The Director will lead efforts to operationalize financial plans, aligning them with clinical and organizational goals, and ensure the realization of outcomes tied to strategic financial pro formas, budgets, and operational objectives. This position will ensure efficient financial management, support decision-making with data-driven insights, and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize resource utilization and operational outcomes. The director will play a critical role in aligning financial objectives with the hospital's mission to deliver high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Lead the operationalization of financial initiatives and system integrations, ensuring alignment across all finance-related departments. Translate strategic financial pro formas into actionable operational plans, monitoring their execution and impact. Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to align financial initiatives with operational goals. Partner with finance and IT leaders to develop and implement systems to track, report, and optimize the operational impact of financial strategies. Evaluate the financial and operational performance of clinical programs, providing actionable insights to finance and operations leaders. Oversee finance managers supporting clinical operational leaders (MCNL, MCD, etc.). This oversight includes collaboration with all Finance Directors to ensure their needs for financial support are achieved, including hands-on support for budget development, financial reconciliations (TDRs), ad hoc financial reporting, and routine financial needs. Partner with budget and decision support teams to develop plans to operationalize efficiency initiatives, whether revenue generating or cost saving. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure financial goals established in pro formas and budgets are met and operational efficiencies are realized. Serve as a key liaison between finance, clinical operations, and administrative teams to ensure cohesive execution of financial initiatives. In conjunction with other finance directors, provide guidance and support to clinical leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial management. Facilitate open communication between departments to promote transparency and accountability in financial operations. Ensure operational initiatives comply with healthcare regulations, financial reporting standards, and hospital policies. Supervise and mentor financial operations staff, fostering professional growth and a culture of accountability. Build cross-departmental relationships to ensure cohesive and collaborative operations. Provide training and resources to enhance financial literacy across clinical departments. Required Qualifications A Masters degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required 5 years of health care administration or operations experience, including accounting, budgeting or financial analysis Demonstrated proficiency in complex financial and statistical analysis and presentation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications including MS Office and budget software Experience with general ledger and HR systems Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and develop operational solutions Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a high performing and collaborative team Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful work environment Desired Qualifications 4 years of relevant healthcare accounting experience.
