Purpose:

Attracts and retains talent and effectively engages department personnel. Assists the business in achieving goals through productive and engaged employees. Manages the development, implementation, and coordination of all personnel-related policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, and local employment laws.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop employee policies and procedures for the organization and guide managers and employees on adherence to the policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Manage the recruiting process for the organization including maintaining job postings, performing phone interviews, reference checks, scheduling, participating in in-person interviews, assisting with candidate selection processes, and preparing offer letters
  • Facilitate the pre-employment drug and background screening process.
  • Manage the onboarding process of new TRULAND team members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, colleges, and other organizations to attract top talent in support of TRULAND career opportunities and the John Deere Ag Tech Program.
  • Support locations in organizing/participating in career fairs and other school events.
  • Perform employee compliance audits as required.
  • Participate in the documentation of TRULAND Human Resource processes and suggest changes based on company needs.
  • Partner with managers in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement programs which may include mentoring, recognition, and wellness.
  • Facilitate the performance management processes for the company.
  • Monitor employee turnover to determine if any trends are adding to the turnover rate.
  • Monitors and timely communicates any competitive activity to management.
  • Execute the employee separation process including coordination with managers, IT and HR ticketing, and exit interview.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Certificates/Security Clearances/Other

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
  • 5+ years' experience in Human Resources activities such as recruiting, employee development, training, and legal compliance
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SPC professional designation preferred.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions as well as dealer business systems
  • Expert knowledge of employment laws, policies, and regulations
  • Knowledge of database software and human resources computer application systems
  • Understands minimum wage laws, confidentiality policies, employee notification requirements, and other regulatory policies
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree in Human Resources/Business Management or equivalent experience required
  • Valid Driver's license required.
  • Driving record that meets employer's insurance company requirements.
