Position Purpose
Assist Teller staff in a lead capacity while serving members and completing account transactions accurately while enhancing our members' financial lives by offering appropriate product and services.
Essential Duties
- Process all teller activities including check cashing, account withdrawals, deposits, account transfers, loan payments, account validation and account inquiries.
- Process mail and night drop transactions.
- Review and analyze incoming checks for potential fraud, proper endorsements and determining proper check holds.
- Assist members with general inquiries including check reorders, investigating check clearings, and account reconciliation.
- Promote, educate and cross-sell credit union services.
- Responsible for the security and accuracy of cash drawers, corporate checks, gift cards, and U.S. postage stamps, etc.
- Participate in the sales and service program to meet individual, branch and corporate expectations and goals.
- Must be flexible and willing to maintain a work schedule determined by the demographic needs of the branch location.
- Must be willing to assist at other branch locations, when needed.
- Follows policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD). Must possess effective knowledge of Vibe Credit Union's products and services.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional, business relations with members and co-workers.
- Maintains privacy of member account information.
- Completes all required reports and daily assigned responsibilities.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
- Supports the teller area by assisting the staff with question and concerns with processing member transactions.
- Investigates and assists resolving teller out-of-balance conditions.
- Responsible for cash operations including; opening/closing, balancing of ATM, vault, dispenser, recyclers, coin machine and ensuring compliance with internal controls and the completion of audits.
- Assist Branch Manager with performance suggestions, coaching and development improvement.
- Assumes responsibility and performs other special assignments as needed.
- Previous Teller experience; minimum of 6 months preferred
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Strong customer service and sales skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Good communication skills, professional appearance and a positive attitude.
- Possess good analytical skills.
- Possess leadership skills.
- Ability to efficiently operate a windows-based PC and business equipment.
