Description

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating outbound shipment and inbound delivery details for our fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Operations Support Manager, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and maintain favorable working relationship with core carrier base

Determine most economic carrier(s) routing and transportation on a load-by-load basis

Schedule outbound shipments and inbound deliveries

Monitor movement of shipments throughout life cycle, including loading, transit, and delivery

Work to improve control and efficiency of freight

Schedule order pickup with customers and/or carrier

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years' experience or combination of education and experience

o Experience with negotiating freight costs preferred

Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle customer and/or carrier issues with poise, tact, and diplomacy

Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, being a high-performance team player

Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Continual attention to detail, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to function with minimal supervision
