**Job Description**

This position requires quoting, planning, prioritizing and coordinating of the purchase and delivery of outsourced components for distribution. The person in this role will have financial knowledge and manufacturing process acumen that will allow for effective negotiations and vendor management, and the ability to engage and resolve quality issues associated with suppliers of the company.

**Scope of activities**

* Supplier Management

* New Production Item setup

* Purchasing & Planning of production materials and components

**Reporting lines**

Dual reports to the Director of Global Supply Chain and Commodity Manager

**Key Relationships**

Process Engineers, Schedulers, Quality Engineers, Customer Service & Logistics

**Main responsibilities**

* Managing supplier to deliver on time, provide good quality parts within an acceptable lead time

* Expediting parts as needed such as when customer demand varies or when supplier is beyond lead time

* Determine and maintain optimal inventory levels factoring obsolescence, lead times, product plan changes, and inventory of critical spares

* Demand Planning Management in ERP System (BPCS)

* Maintain accurate data in ERP system as it relates to item set up, lead time, lot size, incremental orders quantities and BPCS ordering policies such as discrete, Least Cost, Fixed Period Requirements, Incremental Above Standard Lot Size, and Multiple of the Standard Lot Size and Repetitive Order

* Work with the Commodity Manager on any price changes and updating system

* Communicates planning information to appropriate resources (Schedulers, Supplier, End User, etc.)

* Resolve discrepancies pertaining to, but not limited to the following: purchase orders, deliveries, invoices, quotes, RMA, system transactions and stock outs; formulate and implement corrective action plans to resolve reoccurring discrepancies

* Makes independent decisions, commitments, and judgments

**Qualifications**

**Education/Training:**

* Four-year Bachelors degree or 10 years purchasing and planning experience, required

* Certification with professional organization such as the ISM or ASCM, preferred

* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, preferred

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**

* Experience purchasing resins, polymers, HNBR, Fluoro elastomer, EPDM, Carbon black, NBR, plasticizers, machining, castings, sheet metal, electrical or outside processes spend categories

* Strong experience with MRP and planning understanding in routing, BOM and demand planning

* Possesses the ability to operate successfully in a matrix environment and work effectively across multiple groups and levels as a team

* Strong project management skills, including stakeholder, timeline, and meeting management skills

* Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences

* Able to work up, down, and across a large organization; connects at all levels, i.e., operations, management, executives

* A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others and deals well with ambiguity

* Bias for action and urgency to drive tangible impact on category spend to support our customers

* Possesses integrity with the ability to deal openly and accept accountability to stakeholders
