Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Core Technologies Engineering (CTE) group within Intuitive has an immediate opening for a dedicated C/C++ Code Quality expert to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of C/C++ development standards and extensive experience improving code quality. This role requires leading the development and enforcement of coding standards within our engineering organization to ensure the highest quality of software products.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and enforce rigorous code quality standards for C/C++ development within the company.
  • Conduct comprehensive code reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.
  • Educate and mentor team members on C/C++ best practices in code quality, ensuring consistency across the team: take part in refactoring the codebase to address the existing technical debt.
  • Collaborate with project managers and development teams to integrate code quality tools and practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor and evaluate code quality metrics, reporting findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in code quality standards and tooling, integrating innovative practices as appropriate.
Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:
  • 8 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree; or 5 years of experience and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience
  • Strong expertise in C/C++ with a solid understanding of modern coding standards and practices
  • Minimum 5 years working on medium/large C/C++ projects
  • Experience with static analysis tools such as SonarQube and Coverity
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Ability to mentor and lead developers in adopting best code practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in leading code quality initiatives in a large software development environment
