You will be an integral part of the monthly close and ongoing projects focused on process improvements to gain efficiencies and strengthen the overall control environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player with a working knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Staff Accountant works within the accounting team reporting to the Assistant Controller.
Essential Job Functions
Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts including loan and other receivables, intercompany, deferred revenue, security deposits, and operating lease revenue
Understand relevant financial information from lease agreements/lease summaries
Assist in invoice coding and submit to Accounts Payable
Perform trend analysis on income statement and balance sheet accounts and ensure all significant fluctuations are properly explained and supported
Support the external reporting team on audit support documentation, respond to audit inquiries, and ensure timeliness of yearend audit deliverables
Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Tax, Legal, IT, and Technical Accounting
Assist with process improvements and automate manual processes to achieve efficiency and scalability
Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures
Ad hoc accounting requests as needed
Qualifications And Requirements

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA/Public accounting experience is preferred and IFRS experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Detailed understanding and ability to work with multiple entities (90+).
2-3 years of combined public accounting and industry experience
Strong understanding of intercompany relationships; accounting, consolidations, and eliminations
Experience with lease accounting, both operating and finance leases
Detail-oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes
Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges
Ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment without losing accuracy
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication (both verbal and written) skills
Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) is required
Experience in NetSuite and Adaptive Insights is a plus

The salary range provided is intended for candidates who meet the minimum requirements of the role, At Macquarie AirFinance, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine the base salary offered. We review several market factors, consider the level of the respective role, and a candidates skills and experience. When we extend an offer, the compensation offered will be based on these factors and the individual candidates' qualifications.
