We would be honored to have you join the Town of Parker family Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Human Resources, this position provides multidisciplinary, human resources expertise to assigned client groups, ensuring alignment between human resources functions and departmental and Town objectives and strategy. Partners with employees, supervisors, managers and directors, counseling and advising on matters related to human resources policies, procedures, compliance, and best practices. Guides organizational initiatives including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, and compensation and classification. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Management, or a related field. Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources. Supervisory experience preferred. Governmental or public sector experience preferred. Experience supporting public safety employees, police departments or similar entities strongly desired. Certification in functional area of Human Resources such as PHR or IPMA-CP highly desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience to fulfill the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities and provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and municipal laws and ordinances. Knowledge of practices in public administration, management, finance, organizational development, strategic planning, and project management. Knowledge of municipal employment practices. Supervisory experience in motivating, training, evaluating and mentoring staff. Skill in preparing and analyzing comprehensive reports. Skill in the provision of customer service. Skill in working independently with minimal supervision. Skill in working in a team environment, interacting often with multiple stakeholders. Ability to plan, organize, direct, monitor and evaluate activities, special projects, and the implementation of new standards. Ability to effectively present information to management, employees, and external customers. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thought. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to organize work, set priorities and manage multiple, competing priorities with rigid time constraints. Ability to operate computers for data entry, word processing and/or accounting purposes. Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines and multi-line telephone systems. Ability to maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with Town employees at all levels, and with citizens and external agencies. Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm. Work schedule may vary based on assigned client groups.
