We are currently looking for a Full Time Acute Care RN to join our Acute Care Team team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working 6:30AM-7:00PM Su We Th / Mo Tu Fr Sa.Summary:Plans and provides routine patient care by utilizing and documenting the nursing process.Responsibilities:* Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information in accordance with HIPAA regulations* Administers CPR as needed according to Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and NIHSS Credentialing* Calculates and safely administers all prescribed medications according to nursing standards and facility policy and protocols* Is a strong advocate and active participant in patient and patient family education i.e., diagnosis, medications and discharge instructions* Protects the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy* Assessment of patients experiencing urgent, emergent, or non-emergent conditions- Assesses physical needs of all ages of patients- Assesses bio-psychosocial needs of all ages of patients- Assesses health education needs of all ages of patients* Provides and advocates age and culturally appropriate, holistic patient care based upon facility mission statements and as outlined in policies and procedures* Implement interventions appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patient* Administers vaccinations under the oversight of the registered nurse and according to facility policy* Documents vaccines according to facility policy* Sets up and cleans patient rooms and equipment per policy* Collects patient data in initial screening and documents as necessary* Assists provider with diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures, exams, specimen collection and other care as directed* Assists with preparing orders for labs, tests, and medications per provider's direction* Notifies patient of follow-up results as directed by provider* Assists patients in scheduling appointments* Facilitates communication between the patient and the medical staff* Facilitates consults, referrals, and form completion as requested and approved by the medical staff* Facilitates the check-in and check-out process with the patient* Develops and maintains care planning for patients and reviews the care plan for assigned patients* Assigns and directs available staff, assesses assignments and makes appropriate modifications during the shift as necessary based on patient census, acuity level and nursing experience* Communicates the patient's current status to the appropriate parties throughout the continuum of care* Promotes cohesiveness among the inter-disciplinary team* Oversight of all agency and contract staff* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines and meets needs- Seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Shares responsibilities for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Observes and addresses potential environmental hazards and risks- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards- May provide break coverage for others as assigned- May augment staff in other areas as needed based on staffing and needs ratio in regularly assigned unit* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Follow instructions, both written and oral * Adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Read, understand and apply regulations and policies* Communicates verbally with team, departments, guests and management* Communicates clinical information to patient in emergent or urgent settings* Maintains clear and complete employee health recordsSkills:Essential:* Basic Computer skills* Medication administrationExperience:Essential:* No prior experience required.Education:Essential:* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing requiredCredentials:Essential:* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support* Pass general background check* Basic Life Support* Pediatric Advanced Life Support* Registered NurseWorking Conditions:Essential:* Fast-paced* Hospital or Clinic* Potential exposure to biohazards* Potential exposure to contagious diseases* Communications phone, computer* Communications written, verbal* May be required to assist individuals who are emotionally disturbed* Pass pre-employment drug test* Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Use computer up to 25% of shift* Frequently assist with lifting patients* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Standing up to 100% of shift* Walk up to 100% of shift* Infrequent travel
