We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to plan and supervise energy projects from start to finish. The PM will successfully demonstrate they can organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. At Pacifico Power a Project Manager-Construction must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding the budget. Responsibilities Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications and scope of the project Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements. Set buyout targets and perform complete buyout of project. Work with development and engineering to obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met. Develop project staffing plans and budgets. Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies Hire contractors, subcontractors, and other staff and allocate responsibilities Supervise the work through Superintendents and give them guidance when needed Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues Requirements and skills Proven experience as construction project manager In-depth understanding of construction process and project management principles including: Drawing evaluation Developing scope Contracting Scheduling Budgeting and cost reporting Managing contracts Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards Good knowledge of MS Office. Familiarity with construction/ project management software Outstanding communication and negotiation skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills A team player with leadership abilities BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field PMP or equivalent certification would be a nice bonus. Works independently. Knows aspects of job requirements and knows when to engage help if needed. Experience Minimum of 5 years building of commercial or utility solar systems 1 Megawatt and larger. Or experience on multi trade construction projects with heavy electrical scope. Contract execution. The proper candidate will show they have used contracts to manage projects. Know when to notify and how to get subcontractors to perform. Show experience with challenging project closes including permitting and utility interactions. Can show they know how to leave a solid record with meeting minutes and agendas, notices, daily reports, pictures, and logs. Successful at pulling in schedules and monitoring production Knows the requirements for payment and can properly manage purse strings.
