Collins is seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Structural Design Project Engineer to play a key role on our team in Norwood, MA. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design and analysis of transportation related structures. This position requires the ability to lead assigned tasks and projects, consult with clients and government agencies, and perform structural design and load rating with opportunities for inspection. Additionally, there are opportunities to coach and mentor junior staff and grow your leadership abilities. OPPORTUNITIES:

* Provide technical engineering information to Project Manager to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.* Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on-field and/or design issues.* Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.* Prepare complete engineering plans or reports.* Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.* Keep Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services.* Responsible for small to moderately difficult projects from inception to completion* Has limited communication with clients.* Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.* Direct and supervise the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.* Relocation is available

Qualifications

YOU WILL NEED:

* Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.* 2 years' experience or the equivalent thereof.* Experience in the design and analysis of transportation structures required.* Experience with MassDOT, RIDOT, NHDOT, Massport and MBTA standards and procedures preferred.* Experience with AASHTOWare BrR and BrD, CSI Bridge, STAAD, OpenBridge, LEAP and PGSuper and other related design and analysis software preferred.* Experience with AASHTO and/or AREMA specifications preferred.* Experience with drafting using AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred.* Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.)* Valid driver's license #J-18808-Ljbffr
