As our General Manager – you will report directly to the President of DF&H (Diversified Food & Health) North America. Financial Acumen P&L management experience at or above $60M level Experience in setting objectives and achieving goals Able to interpret Company financial reports Makes data based strategic decisions Able to perform project appraisals Assess and manages the key drivers of performance and shareholder value Understands cash flows, and responsible for managing process and activities that impact working capital Operational & Safety Leadership Lead and champion Operational Excellence initiatives across the site with a commitment to improving processes, reducing waste and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to identify and implement Lean practices, 80-20 methodology and other efficiency driven approaches Establish key performance indicators (KPI's) to measure operational performance, track progress and drive accountability together with the Regional Director Operations and site Operations leader. Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis efforts to prevent future safety incidents. Promote a strong safety culture by engaging employees at all levels and fostering safety awareness. Customers & Markets Heavy commercial component to this role. Frequent customer participation partnering with sales team members in selling Packaging equipment and services while working with the team to close business within the sales pipeline. Maintain a focus on Sales Operations best practices to relentlessly drive continuous process improvements. Uses new technology applications to catch market trends. Takes ownership of customer problems. Constantly questions “how will this benefit the customer?” Seeks customer feedback to investigate ways to improve customer experience and new product development. Able to manage and work effectively with all kinds and classes of people equitably regardless of races, nationalities, cultures, disabilities, ages, and genders. Solid product/process knowledge and effective at learning new industries, company, products, or technical knowledge. Constructively works towards a win-win solution during negotiations. Explores creative solutions with others to overcome antagonism and to develop partnerships. Demonstrated work experience and results within international markets. Business Levers Delivers project plans for difficult tasks and projects. Checks that problems and roadblocks are being anticipated. Measures performance against goals & evaluates results. Drives differentiation of pricing across all segments and product lines. Focuses on equitable value sharing between customers and JBT. Embraces the lean journey with long term thinking, change management, and promotion of innovation, showing RCI credentials. Engages employees in continuous improvement thinking process to streamline workflows. Manages maintenance of equipment and machinery. Maintains a competitive hourly cost basis. Assures that customer facing metrics that drive the business performance and customer satisfaction. Key Functional Knowledge Champions and leads by example, safety first in everything. Unafraid to ask questions, make suggestions, and enforce stopping of potentially dangerous work. Balances short term expectations with long-term investment to increase and actualize technology innovation. Supports strategic R&D that may not be directly tied to immediate customer requests. Measures and analyzes ROI for projects, recognizing when to stop or proceed. Good knowledge of contracts and understanding of implications. Maximizes and utilizes marketing function and/or thinking in communications. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing or a related field. MBA is preferred. Five or more years of P&L leadership experience. 8+ years in Operational leadership role with demonstrated results in driving operational efficiencies, safety and lean. Experience leading manufacturing footprint projects. Three or more years of experience & demonstrated results in leading global, industrial product and sales and service teams in a technology-driven manufacturing or capital equipment environment. Track record in innovation as well as creating non-bureaucratic, effective sales processes that operationalize and link product management efforts to sales teams that result in profitable growth above market growth rates. Excellent executive presence coupled with a “roll your sleeves up” and low-ego approach to getting results. Exceptional communication and persuasion competency required. Business acumen. The successful candidate will be known by others to have genuine intellectual curiosity about business. Significant learning agility with the ability to grow into more senior executive level positions ie VP/GM. Role model competency in developing trust relationships of respect with General Managers and leveraging them to create opportunities and drive profitable growth. Ability to manage multiple and different types of priorities effectively. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Travel is anticipated to be up to ~25%.
