The role: AI Hardware System Design Engineer

What you will do:
•Design best in class high-speed, high-density PCBs for AI Accelerators
•Ensure designs meet rigorous electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements, prioritizing SI/PI for optimal performance
•Perform advanced signal integrity analysis and implement best practices for signal routing, power integrity, and EMI mitigation
•Develop power solutions that optimize performance through efficient power delivery, managing IR drop, space limitations, and thermal considerations
•Develop and maintain comprehensive PCB documentation, including schematics, layouts, and BOMs
•Collaborate with ODMs, internal and external stake holders to optimize PCB design for manufacturability, performance, and bring-up efficiency.
•Lead and participate in PCB design reviews, identifying potential issues and proposing effective solutions
•Actively participate in the PCB bring-up process, performing electrical testing, debugging hardware functionality, and collaborating with engineering teams to resolve issues
•Utilize lab equipment and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex hardware problems
•Document debug procedures and contribute to the development of robust testing strategies for future hardware revisions

What you will bring:
•BS EE OR CS, Masters Preferred with Minimum of 12+ years of experience designing high-speed HDI PCBs for AI hardware or similar applications
•In-depth understanding of high-speed signal integrity concepts, including impedance control, crosstalk mitigation, and signal routing techniques
•Solid knowledge of DDR memory interfaces, PCIe protocols and Ethernet standards
•Proven track record in designing complex PCBs for high-performance computing applications, including server motherboards, PCIe cards, and custom modules, with a focus on manufacturability and scalability for high-volume production.
•Prior experience with FPGA development is a plus.
•Familiarity with thermal design principles is a beneficial skill.
•Experience with hardware debugging methodologies and proficiency in using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies)
•Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
•Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
