Utility Specialist

Summary of Responsibilities
The utility services specialist works with all Avenue5 national suppliers as it relates to utilities at a property, i.e. utility billing, waste, telecom, WiFi and other services falling under this purview. This role is responsible for assisting in the onboarding of all national utility supplier accounts for new and existing properties and coordinating closure of such accounts when properties are sold or are no longer managed. The utility services specialist acts as administrative support for the utility services team.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives
Administer the onboarding and set up of utility billing and invoice processing for our national utility supplier accounts for new properties.
Promote the efficiency and convenience of the utility services program to current and potential clients.
Coordinate closure of utility supplier services when properties are sold or are no longer managed.
Facilitate training for property and corporate associates for all utility services programs.
Act as a liaison for internal teams as related to utility supplier integrations and on-going service issues.
Assist in the management of the Wi-Fi, waste, telecom, emergency phone services and other utility programs.
Process past due accounts payable with all national utility suppliers ensuring timely payments are made.
Communicate with supplier representatives on payment status and work to resolve any pre-lien issues.
Administer tracking and reporting metrics for all participating suppliers in the utility services program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma is required. Bachelors degree is preferred.
One to two years of property management experience preferred.
One to two years of experience purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience is preferred.
One to two years of experience in Yardi Voyager or other equivalent system is preferred.
One to two years of experience in Salesforce or other equivalent system is preferred.
Utility billing management experience within multi-family housing preferred.
Skills and Requirements
Intermediate level knowledge with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel (including Excel functions).
Possess a basic understanding of supply chain management concepts.
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detailed oriented and a desire to learn.
Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses if assigned.
Scheduling
Typically, normal business hours.
Environment
Exposure to environment typically found in an office building.
